Past Meeting Topics/Speakers
  • Thursday, September 20, 2007 - Age-based Discussion Night: Catch up with old friends and make a few new ones. Being able to pick the brain of someone who is going through the same issues as you are, at the same time as you are, is invaluable. Sign-ups for the fall sale and upcoming social events will also occur.
  • Thursday, October 18, 2007 - Following the business meeting we will hear from Mary Hove, the Education and Training Director of Family Support Line, an organization which provides professional services to heal and prevent child sexual abuse. She will talk to us about the signs of abuse, which adult behaviors are inappropriate, and how to confront inappropriate behaviors. 90% of sexual offenders are known to have been trusted by the child, which makes it critical to be aware of the signs of abuse and the behaviors of offenders. And as this is a difficult topic to address with our children, we will also learn how to talk to our kids about personal safety and touch. Hope to see you there!
  • Thursday, November 15, 2007 - BUNCO Night! Come out to play, meet some members you may not know, have fun, and maybe even win a prize. All you’ll need is a pen or pencil to keep score. At the meeting you’ll also be able to sign up for this Saturday’s Adventure Aquarium trip and also the Holiday Party which will be at Russell Elementary. And if you have any unwanted Halloween candy, you can bring it to the meeting. Jude P. is collecting candy to donate to St. John’s Hospice, a homeless shelter where candy is a rare treat
  • Thursday, January 17, 2008 - CANCELLED Due to Weather! See the February Bulletwin for information from the cancelled January speaker.
  • Thursday, February 21, 2008 - Education Night – a panel of members will discuss topics related to school and the special challenges MOMs face. Topics include how to choose a preschool, the decision of whether to keep multiples together or separate them in school (and how to talk to administrators about it), how to handle scheduling of extra-curricular activities for multiples (not to mention any singletons you have!), and how to deal with rivalry between multiples in school/activities. Bring your questions about these or other school-related issues.
  • Thursday, March 27, 2008 - Dr. You – find out how to take charge of your healthcare, with ovarian cancer as an example. A representative from the Sandy Rollman Ovarian Cancer Foundation will bring a gynecologist to give an overview about ovarian cancer. Two ovarian cancer survivors share their stories, and a skit about a situation in a doctor's office will help show you how to be your own best health-care advocate.
  • Thursday, April 17, 2008 - MOMs Night Out - We'll be meeting at Maggie O'Neills at 1062 Pontiac Road; Drexel Hill, PA 19026. Click HERE for directions courtesy of Yahoo!Maps. There will be a brief meeting followed by a lot of fun and socializing!
  • Thursday, May 15, 2008 - Discussion Night - In addition to a topics based discussion night, we also held the election of officers for 2008-2009. Hope that everyone enjoyed the book exchange, as well!

We welcome all mothers of twins, triplets, quadruplets or more!
